Finneran and Kerr Join American Century
January 24, 2003
HIGH POINT — Tom Finneran has been named president of American Century Home reporting to Jason Jiang, chairman and principal.
Finneran was previously the vice president of sales and marketing for Cone Jacquards in Cliffside, N.C. He started his new post January 19.
At the same time, George Kerr has also joined American Century in an unknown capacity. He was traveling with Jiang in China at the time of this report. Kerr previously worked for Decorama Industries in Hialeah, Fla., a manufacturer of bedding and window treatments. That company was recently sold and Kerr left not long after the sale.
Finneran will be based in the American Century showroom in the Textile Tower here. American Century has corporate offices and a warehouse in Archdale, N.C., not far from the High Point office.
Finneran has been an important player in the fabrics industry since June, 1964 and has held posts with Quaker, Cone and Joan. This is the first time he has worked for a China-based mill, he said. "After four years of competing with the Chinese, I decided it was time to get personally involved with Chinese product." F&FI
