F. Schumacher Buys Decorators Walk for Reported $2.2M

Las Vegas NV (USA) - F&FI has learned that F. Schumacher has purchased Decorators Walk in New York Bankruptcy Court. Spokespeople at F. Schumacher wouldn't disclose the purchase price, but insiders say that F. Schumacher paid between $2 and $3 million for Decorators Walk.
The purchase includes certain assets Decorators Walk relating to its fabric and wallcovering business, including including Thorp, the oldest textile brand name in America.
F. Schumacher will maintain the Decorator's Walk showroom in Boston, Mass. and close the rest.
Decorators Walk will be part of F. Schumacher & Co.'s Interior Design Group, which also includes the Schumacher and Greeff brands. Along with its boutique-styled lines, Decorators Walk will offer a mix of prints, wovens, fine sheers and wallpapers.
Roberta Nickelsen has been appointed design director of Decorators Walk. She will report to Susan Noth, VP of design of F. Schumacher & Co.'s Interior Design Group.
