Evteks Grows on the Backs of Turkish Exporters

April 8, 2003

ISTANBUL - Evteks (22-26 May) has quietly taken the number two position behind Heimtextil Frankfurt as the most important trade fair in the international home textiles industry. It's little surprise. Turkish manufacturers are considered trusted suppliers and quality manufacturers for buyers around the world. In 2002, more than one-third of Turkish home textiles producers exported to more than 90 countries for combined sales of approximately $3 billion. In 2003, that figure is expected to reach $5 billion.

Together, these factors have combined to make Evteks increasingly important to the trade. The annual exhibition has seen its attendance figures rise steadily in the last three years. This year, the organizer, ITF (Istanbul Trade Fairs) expects to feature around 500 exhibitors from 15 countries. Exhibitors will present their latest creations for the following applications: embroidery, curtains and accessories, bed, bath and linen products, decorative and furnishings fabrics, leather, floorcoverings, wallcoverings, carpets, rugs, contract textiles, contract carpeting, kitchen, upholstery, blinds and sun protection products, hotel and restaurant textiles, CAD/CAM, design services, trimmings and yarn.
