Edgar Introduces 120-Color Chintz Line
November 26, 2003
HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. - For the first time in Edgar Fabrics Corp.'s 50-year history, the converting firm has introduced a chintz line, principal Jeff Rubin said.
The 120-color ''Sunkiss Chintz'' line is produced in 55/45 cotton/polyester and is available for domestic and export sales.
Lanscot Arlen, formerly a major chintz producer with a finishing plant in Wilmington, N.C., bid the trade farewell in early 2003. Some of Lanscot's former jobbers have not yet partnered with new suppliers and have had difficulty making good on the original Lanscot assemblage they offered to customers.
Rubin described the collection as a ''plain goods, basic workhorse line.''
''This was a good time to do such a line to fill the voids in the market,'' Rubin said.
