Duralee Meets Growth Spurt Challenge
March 3, 2005
BAY SHORE, New York — Duralee has purchased an 180,000 square foot warehouse in Morganton, North Carolina to accommodate its future growth after five years of double digit increases in sales according to Robin Gordon, marketing director.
In addition to the warehouse, Duralee has redesigned its branding and graphics for Highland Court, its upper-end luxury fabric line.
In other developments, the company is making moves to aid further expansion. Duralee has started to revamp and in some cases, expand its 12 showrooms with a complete makeover scheduled for its 5,000 square foot Atlanta, Georgia Design Center location. This is a two year project, Gordon said.
Under the Pavilion brand, Duralee has introduced its first outdoor fabric collections of five woven and one print books as well as an outdoor trim collection of 40 SKUs.
Duralee Fine Furniture division, now 18 months old, will occupy 200 square feet of space at Hospitality Design in Las Vegas in May, Gordon said, for the first time, equal in size to the fabric presentation space.
In April, Duralee will unveil its sixth trim collection of 145 SKUs under the 'Treasure of Trim' heading.
Gordon herself, joined the company just one year ago and has been busy ever since. She was previously with Kravet Fabrics Inc. in Bethpage, New York.
