August 13, 2010
BAY SHORE, New York - Samantha Baker has been appointed director of print product for Duralee. Bringing a global understanding of emerging markets and textile design, Baker has positioned Duralee brands with a fresh aesthetic.
After graduating from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 1995 with a Bachelor's degree in Fabric Styling/Textile Design with a focus on Home Furnishings, Baker worked at Guilford Mills. Shortly after, she became a CAD Designer in the Duralee Design Studio. She was promoted to CAD Director in 1998 where she had remained until her recent promotion to director of print product for Duralee.
"My goal, along with our amazing design team, is to create unique printed product for the Duralee brands that are consistent with market trends in theme and color. Prints are coming back into focus in a big way, and I want to saturate the market with fantastic designs so that we will be the designer's go-to resource for printed product. I look forward to collaborating with the Duralee Wovens Director to ensure cohesive collections for the Duralee brand."
