DEERLIJK, BE--Devantex has been declared bankrupt by a judgement from the Court of Commerce of Gent dated July 10.

A notice of the bankruptcy has been sent to Devantex customers by the advocat,  Jan Deleersnyder who are asked to pay the court directly any outstanding invoices.

Those close to Devantex, including Ivan Vandekerckhove, the owner and several agents have not responded directly to questions about the bankruptcy from F&FI. Devantex is a 60 year old company known for its unusual velvet constructions. One customer said "it will be almost impossible to replace the goods made by Devantex."

Devantex was a regular exhibitor at Proposte but it is not known exactly what led to this unfortunate situation.
