Designers Guild Wins Appeal
March 27, 2001
Designers Guild announced in December that it won a House of Lords appeal case against Russell Williams. Two years ago, F&FI reported that Designers Guild won a copy infringement case against Russell Williams, which traded the allegedly infringed goods under the name Washington Design Company. The defendants appealed the decision.
"Naturally we are delighted," said Tricia Guild, creative director of Designers Guild. "We feel we have struck a blow for creative people everywhere who cannot afford to take on those who profit by stealing designs."
