April 15, 2002
New York - Cyrus Clark, Concord Fabrics, and Bill Zales have formed a holding company to purchase the assets of Cyrus Clark Co., Inc., and Concord Home. The new company, Clark Holdings, LLC, dba Cyrus Clark Co., will be owned equally by Bill Zales, Rus Clark, and Concord Fabrics, an 86-year old family company.
Cyrus Clark Co., a print converter, will continue developing higher styled printed textiles and other decorative fabrics for the upper end of the decorative converting market, the company said. Bill Zales, CEO, and Rus Clark, president, will continue to penetrate the decorative jobber market and the many types of manufacturers of home furnishings with their expanded product range of prints and other fine fabrics.
"The new company will be more efficient by virtue of the combined assets of the companies and will not double the general overhead," said Clark. "As the print market is steadily increasing, Cyrus Clark Co. will be ready to capture more of the decorative piece goods." Clark Holdngs, LLC will continue to be located at 267 Fifth Avenue in New York City where the Clark family business has been for 76 years.
