Castellano Beltrame Introduces Trevira®CS Trim

September 2, 2003

MILAN – Castellano Beltrame announced it has made arrangements to supply products for hospitality projects in Las Vegas, just as the company is preparing to introduce its first Trevira®CS line of trim at Decosit.

"We're working on a couple of projects in Las Vegas right now utilizing this new collection," said Franco Beltrame, the transplanted Italian owner living in East London, South Africa, the home of his trimming company. "We're supplying the new Venetian tower with our trimming."

Sheldon Adelson, the creator of the Venetian, has visited the Castellano Beltrame factory in East London, he said.

Beltrame also said more collections will follow and an effort is underway to launch products in the curtain hardware field. "Hardware is easier to sell. We want to do with hardware what we have done with trim. Hardware is simpler and necessary. You have to hang your curtains somewhere. Hardware comes in four colors and is not as quick to change with the fashions."

In addition to these projects, Castellano Beltrame opened its first European showroom in Milan earlier this year.

"Distributors in Europe can come here easily instead of traveling to see our mill in South Africa," said Beltrame, who was present for the showroom's grand opening.

Beltrame commented that business in South Africa is difficult with 17 percent interest rates in force, and all leading indices down.
