Bru to Present Online Stock Checking Program at Decosit

September 2, 2003

BRUSSELS – Bru Textiles has developed a computerized system to enable its customers to check Bru's inventory online. The Kontich, Belgium-based converter is also expanding its facilities, according to Jason Nieman who co-owns Bru with his brother, Gary.

'We are always looking for new opportunities to give to our customers good service,' Nieman said. 'Introducing this system is a big investment for us but for our customers it is a big advantage.'

The new program, which Bru developed in collaboration with an outside software firm, will be introduced at Decosit. Using a password, customers can check stock for future orders, find the status of an order and print samples of Bru's products.

'Also for customers of us who are active in the contract textiles this new stock consulting program is very useful,' Nieman said. 'When there is a demand for a project our customer can give very quickly an answer if a special item is in stock and how fast the delivery can be done.

'In the world of contract business the speed of delivery for the demanded goods is very important.'

Bru's warehouse is equipped with a Web-based system of wireless computers and scanners to track inventory and orders.

After completing work construction on new offices and a warehouse a year ago, Bru is expanding its facilities by 70 percent to accommodate growth. Last year, the company reported sales of $25 million. F&FI
