KONTICH, BE—Bru Textiles, a Belgium based converter and distributor has launched an outdoor fabrics collection for the first time called ‘UV –PRO’ woven in 100 percent solution dyed acrylic yarn.

Bru executives were not available for comment. As a company policy, they do not usually comment on any press reports and prefer to market their products under the radar.

Bru Textiles was founded in 1995 by two brothers, Gary and Jason Neiman. It is one of the largest fabric converters in the world today with sales reportedly in excess of $125 million.

Bru favors deep color lines of commodity products, especially solids and offers 24 hour delivery from receipt of order from stock in Kontich from a state of the art warehouse.

The initial ‘GET-OUT’ outdoor collection of 128 fabrics in solids, stripes, plains and jacquards is serviced in both piece and cut-length. UV-PRO incorporates contemporary, transitional and traditional designs in classic colors.

“The collection was shown to customers in January and the feedback was positive in terms of the price/value ratio,” a Bru customer told F&FI during Heimtextil.

‘GET OUT,’   offers the consumer a five year limited warranty against fading from harmful UV rays. UV-PRO is distributed in Germany by JAB; in Lebanon by Khalil Warde and it is believed that a different distributor in each country carries the program.

“The UV-PRO collection web site www.uv-pro.com is well done and gives you a clear idea of the designs, the colors, the concept, the technical part; you have everything there,” according to one Bru-Tex customer.

According to the website, “all UV Pro fabrics are Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 certified, the safety standard and quality label in the international textile and clothing industry. Technical assessment and annual re-evaluation by independent research institutes are focused on ecology and healthiness of the entire production cycle, from raw materials to the finished fabric.”
