May 17, 2018
ISTANBUL, TURKEY—Mehmet Yildiz has been named General Manager of Boyteks Tekstil, the upholstery, rugs and carpet and ticking division of the Boyteks Group based in Kayseri, Turkey.
Boyteks upholstery is produced in Bursa while mattress ticking is manufactured in Kayseri so Yildiz will divide his time between the two plants, a company spokesman says.
Yildiz replaces Mustafa Yildirim who left Boyteks in order to join a Turkish polypropylene yarn producer.
Yildiz, previously General Manager of Boycelik, the mattress springs division of Boyteks reports to Boyteks CEO Alpaslan Baki Ertekin. Ertekin utilizes a management policy which calls for the rotation of general managers through various divisions of the company. There are 35 divisions at Boyteks Holding with 14,000 employees in total.
"We produce two million meters of woven upholstery every month," says Erdogan Peker, a Boyteks spokesman explains. His new boss by the way is Gokcen Kibrit, newly named Sales & Marketing Coordinator
"If you add in warp knits and wovens, we produce five million meters a month in total," Peker says.
In other developments, Boyteks says it exceeded its sales goal for the first quarter of 2018. To help keep the company moving ahead, a recycled yarn/fabric collection is scheduled for introduction at Heimtextil 2019 featuring woven polyester and also fabric in a mix with recycled cotton yarn. "Green hotels use recycled upholstery today and we expect to follow this up with recycled ticking," Peker adds.
