Boyd Retires from Transprint USA
February 2, 2009
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, California – Chief Executive Officer of Transprint and highly-respected textile veteran, William Boyd, has announced his retirement from the company.
Due directly to Boyd's influence and guidance, the company grew into the world's largest producer and supplier of top quality heat transfer paper in the U.S. for design, fabric and finished goods. The company was purchased by Colorep, Inc. in 2007 and is now expanding its global reach.
Under Boyd's leadership, Transprint developed a library of more than 15,000 designs which are continuously sold to customers around the world. He joined Transprint's predecessor, Storeys UK, in 1973 and then moved to the U.S. to start the company's plant in Virginia. When he and a colleague bought the U.S. assets of Transprint in 1982, they called the new entity Storeys Transprints, Inc., but by 1991, the world had come to know the company as Transprint USA.
"I'm delighted and honored to have been a part of the many changes in our industry," said Boyd. "And I look forward to being able to help guide Colorep and Transprint as they bring AirDye and other new technologies to the world."
Boyd will continue to be affiliated with Transprint on a consultation basis.
