Bartel-Orton to Offer Designs on Hemp
January 5, 2007
LONDON, United Kingdom – Textile designer Aleta Bartel-Orton has now made her work available on Hemp, for upholstery use.
Her designs are also now offered on a heavyweight linen for curtains.
Bartel-Orton has chosen a Hemp that carries a drape that is more elegant than "normal upholstery fabric," and is more "silk-like" to the touch. The range of Hemp she has selected is ideal for use on sofa and dining upholstery as well as wallcovering.
"I spent a great deal of time searching for a quality Hemp fabric with a tight enough weave to suit the demands placed upon modern day upholstery," Bartel-Orton said. "The fabric I have chosen has an unusual drape and is suited to the intricate nature of my designs, the tightness of the weave ensures each design retains all its detail and no colours are distorted. Hemp will open up a new market for my work, something I am very excited about," she said.
This move follows her switch to digital printing, which offers her customers "greater flexibility and increased complexity" in design.
