BCFA Recalculates Calculator
April 24, 2008
BUCKINGHAMSHIRE, United Kingdom - The British Contract Furnishing & Design Association (BCFA) has recently revised its Carbon Footprint Calculator for the complimentary benefit of all BCFA members. The Carbon Footprint Calculator is comprised of several spreadsheets which facilitate the assessment of how much carbon and carbon dioxide is generated by manufacturing and assembly plants, warehouses, offices and other commercial premises.
The calculator takes all manufacturing and distribution processes into account, including product and packaging materials, fuels used in manufacturing, raw material and final product transport, the use of intermediaries, and finally waste disposal.
The BCFA is already being consulted by the governmental task group, and data generated by BCFA members using the tool will be applicable in the shaping of a national eco-strategy.
