Absecon Unveils Its First Nano-Pel™ Line

December 8, 2003

COLOGNE, N.J.—Absecon Mills has reached an agreement with Nano-Tex™ to apply stain-repelling Nano-Pel to Absecon's new "Clean Room" upholstery line.

"Absecon can produce fabrics like Clean Room which incorporate changes at the molecular level in order to increase stain resistance without sacrificing the properties of texture and hand," said Absecon President Randy Taylor.

"With Nano-Pel technology, the stains – whether liquid- or oil-based – literally bounce off the surface of the fabric. There's no other technology like this on the market today."

The new collection comprises 96 skus in all polyester or poly/cotton blends.

"Pricing is competitive to other jacquards, but we're among the first to feature this new technology in the contract/hospitality industry," Taylor said.

The line will be available in January through Absecon sales representatives worldwide. Taylor expects the line to premiere at DecoContract in Brussels.

Absecon is among the first to provide Nano-Pel fabric enhancement on contract fabrics. Burlington Contract Fabrics has entered into a commission finishing arrangement with Absecon to provide this enhancement.
