A.S. Creation Buys Fuggerhaus Stoffe

Augsburg/Gummersbach, Germany – On 1 September, A.S. Creation Tapeten AG, a wallpaper producer, purchased Fuggerhaus Stoffe GmbH, a high end fabric wholesaler based in Augsburg Germany. The purchase price was not disclosed.
Fuggerhaus, which is based in Gummersbach, Germany, produces the Tulipan and Volland collections of fabrics.
Helmut Schmitt of Fuggerhaus and Georg Hünnemeyer will remain as lead managers at Fuggerhaus. Peter Nell, owner of Fuggerhaus will stay on as a consultant for the next few years.
Klauspeter Nill and Gunter Gröss will remain with the company as advisors.
Under the present set up, the organization has administrative operations in Augsburg and a warehouse in Cologne, according to a company communiqué signed by Hünnemeyer and Schmitt.
About four years ago, A.S. Creation purchased Indes Wohntextil GmbH in Gummersbach, Germany. With the purchase of Fuggerhaus, A.S. Creation continues its expansion in the furnishings fabric business and also consolidates its position in the trade.
The declared aim of the purchase is to extend and establish the Fuggerhaus collection within the upper segment of the furnishings fabric market. Tulipan, Volland and Strehl will remain as individual brands within the Fuggerhaus group.
