AIA to Host Fall Conference in Hong Kong

HONG KONG, China – This October, the Hong Kong Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and the AIA Committee on Design will jointly host the 2006 AIA Northwest & Pacific Region Conference and AIA Committee on Design Fall Conference in Hong Kong and Shanghai.

The conference will run from Oct. 16-22, 2006.

"The 2006 AIA Northwest & Pacific Region and COD Conference offers an excellent platform for networking, exchanging ideas and partnering from all sides of the Pacific Rim," said Grover Dear, AIA Hong Kong Chapter president.

"At this unique point in time of incredible growth in Hong Kong and China, we are very pleased and honored to be hosting this important annual conference. We are confident that our colleagues in the industry will enjoy this exciting opportunity to meet fellow professionals and business leaders in this stimulating part of the world."

The conference will include a variety of seminars, lectures and exhibits and will focus on sustainable design and its impact on contemporary architecture and urban planning in China and the Asia Pacific Region.

The AIA was founded in 1857 and includes more than 76,000 practicing architects, fellows and associates.
